Gas leaking....pretty mundane job. Especially at 11:00pm on a Thursday night (27/10/11).

Until you realise that it's screaming out of a 180mm pipeline running through an estate on the fringes of Truganina.
"Once we pulled up, we saw the gas was dispersing itself away from homes, so a live hose reel was all we needed," explains Station Officer Redman from Hoppers Crossing, Incident Controller of the job. "But then the wind changed, pushing the gas into homes, so we changed our plan."
With Truganina and Point Cook Brigades arriving, and Police cordoning off the area, the plan was to disperse the gas with two 38mm hose lines while the Gas Company could shut off the gas.
